ABOUT TAMARA

Tamara L. Bethea is a passionate leader, teacher, and servant of God who is dedicated to empowering individuals through faith and service. She is the Senior and Founding Pastor of Abundant Hope Christian Center in Newark, New Jersey—a ministry with a mission to glorify God, edify people, and reach the community through meaningful worship and outreach. With a vision to foster healing, deliverance, and growth, Tamara leads with a heart for biblical teaching and compassionate service.

Tamara holds a Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership from Pillar College and serves as the covering pastor for Freedom and Liberty Outreach Fellowship, under the leadership of Pastor Tanya McAllister-Miller. She is also a clergy leader with Faith in New Jersey, an advocacy organization dedicated to social justice. In May of 2025 Pastor Tamara was elevated to office of Overseer. In addition to her pastoral work, she is the CEO of La’Salle Coaching, LLC, where she provides life coaching and motivational speaking. She is the author of Wisdom for the Weary: Overcoming Life’s Obstacles (Vol. 1), Wisdom for the Weary: Pushing Past Pain and Into Your Purpose,  When Pain Pushes You to Prayer that Leads to Purpose -Journal, and hosts two online programs—Real Life, Real Solutions with Coach Tami and Motivational Moments with Coach Tami.

On May 25, 2020, she married Deacon Jermaine Bethea, and together they are blessed with a blended family of seven children and twelve grandchildren. Despite life’s trials and tribulations,  Tamara remains steadfast in her faith, drawing strength from Isaiah 40:31: “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

 

Her guiding motto reflects her unwavering belief: “Remember, we already have the VICTORY; everything else we go through is for our growth and the benefit of others!”
